The Droid Razr MAXX HD can be considered a Frankenstein phone. Were the good Dr. Frankenstein alive today and up to his old tricks, he would certainly appreciate the “parts and pieces” recipe that Motorola designers used to create this high-performance Droid Razr device. The Droid Razr MAXX HD takes the desirable qualities from its previous Droid Razr siblings, creating a handset with an ultrathin profile, all day battery performance, the most built-in data storage of any smartphone, and the largest high resolution screen Motorola has ever designed for a mobile handset.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a reduced holiday price point now starting at $149.99.

And in honor of that crazy annual shopping phenomenon known as Black Friday, Amazon has decided to discount the handset to $149 on contract through the Black Friday sales week. Since that offer is exclusive to their online wireless retail store, you don’t have to wait in any long lines like you do to receive Black Friday savings at a brick-and-mortar retail outlet. That handset launched on October 18 on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system, and just when the National Football League is heating up, you will be able to enjoy the Verizon exclusive NFL Mobile application on your Droid Razr MAXX HD handset.

Also launching some security features not found on all previous Droid Razr models, the Droid Razr MAXX HD delivers a remote hard drive wipe feature you can employ if your handset is ever lost or stolen. Government level data encryption which protects your sensitive personal information, e-mail, calendar and contacts is also present, as well as a personal identification number locking system. The handset is available in either black or white, and delivers NFC (Near Field Communications) wireless connectivity options out-of-the-box.

Slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) the Droid Razr Maxx HD handset is also durable, with the familiar DuPont Kevlar and aircraft grade aluminum body design returning from previous Droid Razr models. The handset is also splashproof as were previous Droid Razr editions, and a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass is back once again, offering scratch resistance. The large 4.70 inch Super AMOLED screen delivers 16 million colors at a rate of 312 pixels per inch, for an overall screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. Light and proximity sensors help add to the extreme battery performance, and DLNA and microHDMI video out options are present.

You can achieve 21.0 hours of talk time or 13 hours of video playback from a single charge of the oversized 3,300 mA battery, and the Droid Razr MAXX HD is powered by a speedy dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. The handset offers 32 GB of built-in storage, 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM system memory, and a microSD slot for storage expansion. YouTube and Picasa applications have been pre-installed, and the Droid Razr MAXX HD contains a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder for 1,080P HD video capture. There is also a front facing chat cam, which provides video call support and portrait snapshot capture.

You can purchase the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD for a special reduced price tag now starting at $149.99.
