The Droid Razr MAXX HD launched on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in mid October in the United States, with Motorola designers wisely retaining several popular high-end features that were debuted on previous Razr models. The razor thin profile from the Droid Razr 4G is present, maximum battery performance and out-of-the-box data storage show up courtesy of the Droid Razr MAXX 4G, and Motorola’s largest high resolution smartphone screen has been borrowed from the Droid Razr HD.

The recently released Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available at select online retailers for a reduced price now starting at 199.99.

The handset also offers some security minded features which are not found on all Droid Razr models. The Droid Razr MAXX HD benefits from a Remote Wipe feature that allows you to erase the hard drive remotely if your handset is ever lost or stolen, and a Personal Identification Number lock is also present. The handset also delivers government grade encryption for protecting your sensitive e-mail, calendar and contact information. Also, exclusive to the Droid Razr MAXX HD, Verizon delivers the NFL Mobile application for sports lovers.

Currently available in either black or white, the handset measures 5.19 x 2.67 x 0.37 inches (131.9 x 67.9 x 9.3 mm) and weighs 5.54 ounces (157 g). Splash-proof nanocoating protects the interior electrical components and display, and the screen is covered with a scratch resistant layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The popular and rugged Kevlar and aluminum body is also present from previous Droid Razr models. Light and proximity sensors are built into the screen, offering auto brightness adjustment depending on the amount of ambient light present, and also delivering battery conservation.

With 21.00 hours of talk time or 27.00 hours of streaming music when in Verizon’s LTE coverage areas, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD 4G handset delivers maximum battery performance second only to its sibling, the Droid Razr MAXX.
