When the Motorola Droid Razr 4G Android smartphone was launched, it was hailed as the skinniest smartphone ever built. The next in the Droid Razr lineup was the Droid Razr Maxx 4G, which retained that same slim design motif but added maximum battery performance. Next came the Motorola Droid Razr HD, adding true HD resolution for the first time in a Droid Razr handset, while keeping the popular features from the previous two models. Now we have the Droid Razr MAXX HD, which continues the Droid Razr features progression by not only delivering extreme battery performance in a super skinny form, but also adding a high definition screen that is the largest Motorola has ever made for a smartphone.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available at a reduced price at select online retailers now starting at 199.99.

They then built on those previous qualities by adding a remote wipe feature that allows you to erase your hard drive remotely if your handset is ever lost or stolen, as well as a personal notification number locking system. The handset also offers government level data encryption protection for your e-mail, calendar and contacts. And exclusively from Verizon, the Droid Razr MAXX HD delivers the NFL Mobile application for sports fans.

Wisely not veering from the physical appearance and body design of the previous Droid Razr models that were all best-sellers for the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the United States, the same Kevlar and aluminum body design is back. Waterproof splash protection is provided for the exterior and internal electrical components, and an overlay of Corning Gorilla Glass continues to provide Droid Razr models with scratch and chip protection on the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD 4G.

The handset returns the 8.0 megapixel camcorder/1.3 megapixel chat cam combo of previous models, and video recording is offered at 1,080P HD resolution. Offered in your choice of black or white, the Near Field Communications (NFC) enabled device measures in at a slim 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) thick. The Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Android operating system is present out-of-the-box, but Motorola has announced that an upgrade to the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS is in the works and should be delivered by the end of the year.

A Super AMOLED 4.70 inch display offers resolution at 720 x 1,280 pixels, delivering video out through microHDMI and DLNA connectivity options. Pixel density runs extremely high, at 312 pixels per inch, and 21.0 hours of talk time or 13.0 hours of video playback is delivered from a single battery charge. The system is powered by a 1.5 GHz Krait dual core central processor, and 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM joins 32 GB of built-in data storage in the hardware package.

You can buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD now starting at 199.99.
