ios7.0.3The next update to the iOS 7 software is reportedly going to be 7.0.3 and it will be fixing two major bugs found since Apple released the new operating system just a week ago.  Earlier this week, Apple reported that it was working on a fix for the iMessage issues that users have been complaining about and arrived right after iOS 7, 7.0.1 and 7.0.2, which came right at the end of September.  The iMessage bug has left users without the ability to send messages, for them to rely on text messages instead.

The second fix will be in regards to software that is on the iPads that were delivered to school districts for use in the classroom.  The iPads for school use come with admin profiles already installed so that teachers can monitor the usage of the iPad, but according to one online source, the profiles are broken on the iOS 7 software.  Without the admin profiles in place, teachers were not able to monitor the usage and the filters put into place to protect the students from what they look at and it does not appear to be an isolated issue.

The iMessage bug is an isolated issue and even though the reset network settings fix solved problems for some, apparently the issue is still affecting users.  Apple did not comment on what update is coming for the iPhone iMessage fix, but since 7.0.3 is in the testing phase, it is likely that will be the one that does the trick.  At least Apple is aware of both issues and has admitted the issues, but it could be a little more time before the issues are fixed completely.  Apple is reportedly also working on the iOS 7.1 update already and that would come to the market with the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5.

Apple released the iOS 7 a couple of weeks ago and it could not have been a day or two before users were complaining of the issues.  Apple released the 7.0.1 and that fixed a few things, then 7.0.2 and a few more were fixed, but the software was still causing issues.  With the new iPad Mini and iPad 5 coming, it might be that Apple just waits around for iOS 7.1 since it might be one week away.

  1. Apple has mad a huge mistake with this ios7 update. I hate it and many of my friends and family also hate it! I want to go back to ios6 or change to an android phone!

  2. I hate it too!! I wish I had not updated.

  3. I would not hate it if it worked! No sign of a fix that has stopped email sending (randomly) from iPhone and iPad. It can’t be that no one else has this problem.
