kitkatMost of the news that you can find in the smartphone section of Google has been taken up by Android 4.4 KitKat in one way or another and consumers are hungry for information about the new update and how it is going to affect their Android powered tablet or smartphone.  Android 4.4 KitKat is reportedly going to come with some user interface changes that make the home screen look more modern and might add some more functionality to the lock screen on your device.  Because the Nexus 5 is about to launch as well, the Android 4.4 KitKat software has been talked about just as much.

In the recent wave of news surrounding the new software, rumors suggest that the Android 4.4 KitKat could come with a new Google Play Store as well.  Currently, the Google Play store is version number 4.3.1.1, but some new leaked screenshots are showing off something completely different at this point.    Thanks go out to one online source that posted them online for all of us to see.  Google will be getting the Play store up to version 4.4 and it will bring a few changes that some might consider very much needed.

Even though the changes might seem small, they will give the menu and navigation a little tune up.  The screenshots are reportedly a work in progress and not the final version, but considering the Android 4.4 is coming very soon, the leaked images should give you some idea of what to expect.  Seeing the menu along the top of the screen is not going to be the normal as Google replaced it with a neat little slide out menu.  You can use the slide out menu to navigate between the main Play store page and apps, wishlist or gift card area of the store.

The popup menu will also change depending on where you are inside the Play store giving you certain options like help or the setting page.  The user interface is also reportedly going to be updated to look more like Google Now, Google Keep and Gmail based on the cards that you can find with Google Now.  You should expect to see the new version of the Google Play store when the Android 4.4 KitKat shows up later on this month.
