galaxynote3The Verizon Galaxy Note 3 has a very large display. Continuing the tradition of 5+ inch touchscreens which support the included smart stylus S Pen which began with the original Galaxy Note (5.3 inch display), the Galaxy Note 3 offers a screen (5.70 inches) which is larger than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note II (5.55 inches). This would lead the typical smartphone shopper to believe that the already large overall body size has also increased. That person would be wrong.

You can purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note III at a reduced price tag stating at $249.

Samsung has done a good job of actually making the Galaxy Note 3 smaller than the Note II, even with the larger screen size. On the Verizon 4G LTE network in the United States the handset is currently available for around $249 on contract through select online retailers like the Amazon Wireless store. That larger screen size is also home to a couple of features which have never before been seen on a Samsung Galaxy Note device.

This is the first time that Full HD resolution has been offered on a Galaxy Note, and the 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution on that multitouch, capacitive touchscreen spreads more than 16 million colors across the display when rendering visuals. This is also the first time that a Galaxy Note smartphone has delivered such a high pixel density, with 386 pixels covering each inch of display space.

The Samsung firsts for a Note smartphone do not end there, as the megapixel count on the Galaxy Note 3 rear facing camera has been improved from 8 megapixels to 13 megapixels. Also, in the mobile marketplace this is the first device to deliver an incredible 3.0 GB of RAM system memory. Samsung has also created a “drop resistant” special textured backing on the Galaxy Note 3, and the display is covered by a scratch resistant layer of Gorilla Glass. For such a huge device, the handset is also exceptionally slim, at 0.33 inches (8.3 mm) in thickness.

Battery life is as massive as the display is large, with the 3,200 mA extended life battery on board delivering a full 25.0 hours of talk time from a single battery charge, more than two times the industry average. The phone also delivers the fastest and most capable quad core central processor currently found on a 4G handset, with the Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz. 32 GB of built-in storage is present, and a microSD slot allows for storage expansion. That rear facing 13 megapixel camcorder joins a front facing chat cam in the camera combo, and is capable of 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. You can purchase the Galaxy Note 3 starting at $249.
