galaxys3newBack in the day, the Samsung Galaxy S III was one of the most powerful handsets in the smartphone market. This was way back in 2012 when the handset was still the flagship device of the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer. During that time, the Samsung Galaxy S III also became the most popular handset in the market because of the impressive resume it came with and the fire-breathing components it had in its internals.

The Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB Black is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

The Samsung Galaxy S III, however, is now out of the limelight because its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S IV, has already landed and is now making a killing in the market. However, users of the Samsung Galaxy S III need not worry because Samsung confirmed in the past that whatever features and functionalities the Samsung Galaxy S IV came with will also make their way to the Samsung Galaxy S III via a future update – namely, the much-awaited Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the once Samsung flagship.

Word on the street, however, is that there could be a probability that the Samsung Galaxy S III could skip Android 4.2.2 and get cranked up directly to Android 4.3. No confirmation on this piece of information as of yet but our sources close to the R&D department of Samsung India whispered that the manufacturer is already working on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the handset.

Looking back, a leaked build of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy S III has already surfaced in the past but our sources claim that since Samsung is already working on the Android 4.3 update, there could be a chance that the manufacturer will decide to just crank up the handset to Android 4.3 and skip Android 4.2.2 entirely in the process. In addition to that, there are rumors that the said Android 4.2.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy S III will land in November instead of July so if these rumors pan out, it might make more sense to give the handset the Android 4.3 update instead of making users of the handset wait longer.

As mentioned earlier, there is no confirmation yet regarding this information so we advise everybody to take it with a grain of salt. Regardless, nothing will change the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S III is still a very impressive device despite its slightly aging status and we have its specs sheet below to prove our point.

Now running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for its operating system, the operation of the Samsung Galaxy S III is powered by a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset while its flawless performance is brought about by its dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and 2GB of RAM. The handset is available in a 16GB and a 32GB edition in terms of storage space but if this is not enough for your storage needs, the Samsung Galaxy S III comes with a dedicated microSD card slot in its chassis for memory expansion purposes. Display-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S III sports a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its camera department features a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.

The Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB Black can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
