galaxysiiiallThe popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S III 4G Android smartphone has reached its 16th straight month, and the handset is currently available starting at one penny on contract through select online retail outlets. Offered in blue, white, black or brown and available in both 16 GB and 32 GB models, the handset recently received some good news from Samsung. The consumer electronics company is releasing an intelligent watch they call the Galaxy Gear, and wireless integration with the Galaxy S III smartphone has been promised by the end of this year.

The Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB is available for a reduced sale price now starting at one penny.

Some cell phones will reach 1 million global sales, with a few hitting 5 or 10 million in their lifetime. The Samsung Galaxy S III is a slim and lightweight Android mobile handset which recently recorded its 60 millionth sale. That’s the number which very few smartphones or mobile handsets ever see after their run is over, and sales continue as the phone is still a popular choice among smartphone shoppers. One of the first handsets to deliver simultaneous high definition video and image capture, the Samsung Galaxy S III delivers an attractive feature package overall.

The device is small for one that offers a 4.80 inch high resolution display, measuring just 5.39 x 2.80 x 0.34 inches (137 x 71 x 8.6 mm) in size, and weighing just 4.70 ounces (133 g). That screen is protected against typical dings, drops and scratches by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and delivers a True HD resolution of 720 by 1,280 pixels. Pixel density is high at 306 pixels per inch, with more than 16 million colors used to render visual displays. The industry average talk time is 11.0 hours, and the Galaxy S III delivers up to 15.0 hours of talk time after a full battery charge.

On the hardware side, Samsung has included a generous 2.0 GB of RAM memory, and although ample onboard storage is provided for the typical smartphone user, your closet space can be expanded thanks to the microSD slot which supports external memory cards up to 64 GB in size. A dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU powers the Galaxy S III handset, as part of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 system chip. An Adreno 225 graphics processor is present, and NFC wireless support is also on board.

The Galaxy S III allows you to capture all your video memories in Full HD resolution, at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Digital image stabilization, a high dynamic range mode (HDR), a back illuminated sensor (BSI), and a special effects package allow for extreme customization, and the rear snapper runs 8.0 megapixels. A front facing chat cam with Skype and video call support is also present, Facebook, YouTube, Picasa and Twitter apps are ready for use out-of-the-box, and a recent announcement leads us to believe that the Galaxy S III will receive a boost up to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system in the next few months.

The Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at just one penny.
