galaxysiiisprintThe Samsung Galaxy S III is arguably the hottest phone on the planet right now, and in many retail outlets online the price tag has been slashed in advance of the upcoming Galaxy S4 launch. The name of the next Galaxy S smartphone has not been confirmed, but rumors seem to indicate that Samsung would be wise to continue moving along in the successful numerical designation for their upcoming Galaxy S devices. Recently a supposedly “leaked” document shows a March launch for the Galaxy S4, but Samsung has not officially released a launch date.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

The Galaxy S III smartphone is currently available from multiple wireless carriers in the US, and the Sprint variant at the Amazon Wireless store was recently spotted with a reduced retail price tag of $0.01 on contract for the 16 GB version. Currently running Jelly Bean 4.1, that handset has found its way to the new Sprint 4G LTE network. Sprint recently added an additional 28 markets in the United States to support their 4G LTE system. As a smartphone, the Galaxy S III is slim, measuring 0.34 inches (8.6 mm), and weighing light at 4.70 ounces (133 g).

Considering the amount of hardware on the handset, as well as the large 4.8 inch display, that makes the Sprint Galaxy S III slim and light compared to other smartphones with the same size display. That 4.80 inch Super AMOLED screen delivers a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, offered at 306 pixels per inch. Displays are rendered in more than 16 million separate colors, and typical capacitive, multitouch gestures are supported.

Talk time on the Sprint 4G LTE network can run as high as 9.20 hours from a single battery charge, and the Galaxy S III supports NFC wireless functions out-of-the-box. A dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU powers the handset, and joins an Adreno 225 graphics processor in a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip package. The Galaxy S III offers double the average smartphone RAM memory at 2.0 GB, and is also offered in a 32 GB model. MicroSD, microSDHC and microSDXC support for external memory cards up to 64 GB is also present.

Most smartphones these days offer a dual camera combo, and the two cameras on the Galaxy S III include a front facing chat cam and rear facing camcorder. That rear device runs 8.0 megapixels, delivering 1,080P HD resolution video capture. That snapper also allows for simultaneous HD video and image capture, the built-in music player delivers both custom and preset equalizers, and popular online destinations Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Picasa have been pre-installed.

You can purchase the Galaxy S III at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
