galaxynote3The big-screen Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is effectively a tablet in a smartphone’s body. The handset is the first to deliver a generous 3.0 GB of RAM memory, and that RAM joins one of the fastest processors ever designed for a mobile handset to deliver excellent speed and dependable operation. The phone has been extremely popular due to the 5.70 inch Full HD 1,080P display it boasts, multi-window multitasking options and power-packed performances. Recently the handset was spotted on sale at the Amazon Wireless store online.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $149.99 – $779.99.

But now that Android’s KitKat 4.4.2 operating system has been officially released, Galaxy Note 3 shoppers and owners want to know exactly when they can expect the new features and performance upgrades that software will deliver to their handset. The new Google operating system version is set to deliver an improved phone dialer, better camera operations, gallery advancements and restyled navigation and status bars. The good news is it appears KitKat 4.4.2 may hit the Galaxy Note 3 as early as January of 2014.

One of the largest French wireless carriers, SFR, has leaked information that shows the operating system hitting its handsets in late January. Up til now, January was rumored as a release date for the new Android OS on the Galaxy Note 3, with “first quarter in 2014″ as the only guarantee. Several rumors have been hitting the Android blogosphere from usually reliable Android devotees that the United States market could see KitKat 4.4.1 or 4.4.2 as early as January on the Galaxy Note 3, so this confirmation from the French carrier is good news.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 will probably also undergo the upgrade at the same time, as Samsung wants to push the best available software out to its flagship devices. A late January release could deliver the 4.4.2 version of the software to the Galaxy Note 3, a handset which recently received a boost up to Android 4.3. Better closed captioning support and stronger security will be on board the 4.4.2 update, as well as more efficient battery usage and more tools and capabilities for app developers.

Samsung has continued to make larger screen sizes on each iteration of the Galaxy Note smartphone, and that is the case with this third-generation model. Moving from a 5.5 inch screen to a 5.7 inch Full HD display makes improvements in both size and resolution, and the designers at Samsung actually have made a smaller overall device this time than the previous Galaxy Note II handset. A 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 central processor joins the industry leading 3.0 GB of RAM memory, a powerful Adreno 330 graphics processor and 32 GB of onboard storage in the handset’s attractive hardware package.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $149.99 – $779.99.
