LG-Optimus-G-NexusThe LG Optimus G handset was released in mid November, and arrived with a sleek black chassis on the Sprint 4G LTE network in the US. Maximizing space by arriving slightly smaller and not as wide as the Galaxy S III, the handset still delivers a large 4.70 inch screen with extremely high resolution. Boasting a quad core central processor, a full 2.0 GB of RAM memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage, the handset also offers unique Power Saver and Eco Mode options which conserve battery life.

The LG Optimus G is available for a reduced holiday price now starting at $99.99.

Slim in spite of the amount of impressive hardware the handset delivers, the LG Optimus G for Sprint measures 0.33 inches (8.45 mm) in thickness. The 4.70 inch True HD IPS+ Touch Hybrid Display offers the first instance of Zerogap Touch technology in an LG smartphone. This means that the layer of air which is found between the LCD panel and the glass on most smartphones has been removed. This causes less color saturation and truer color display, and better viewing in extreme light and at extreme angles. The handset currently retails for around $49 on contract at select online retailers.

Resolution runs high at 768 x 1,280 pixels, delivered at a very high rate of 318 pixels per inch. That IPS LCD display supports the standard capacitive, multitouch gestures, and contains light and proximity sensors for auto brightness adjustment and battery power conservation. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass protects against everyday wear and tear. Talk time is excellent at 13.0 hours offered from a single battery charge.

The microchip suite found in the hardware package on board the LG Optimus G is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 set, with a quad core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU at its core. Also on board is an Adreno 320 GPU, and the above-mentioned RAM and data storage. Both YouTube and Picasa applications have been pre-installed, DLNA video out is also on board, and the handset offers Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box.

You can purchase the LG Optimus G for a discounted holiday price now starting at $99.99.

With one of the highest megapixel counts for a camera found on any smartphone, the LG Optimus G for Sprint offers a 13.0 megapixel rear facing camcorder with 1,080P HD resolution video capture. That high-resolution snapper allows for voice activation of five common operations, and delivers an LED flash and special effects package. And for active shots or kids that can hold still, the Time Catch feature takes multiple rapid photos at short intervals, allowing you to pick the best picture. The handset also offers a front facing VGA quality chat cam, which allows for video call support.
