Sprint LG Optimus G Offers 4G Best Data Storage and RAM Memory

The quad core Sprint LG Optimus G was announced on October 20, and arrived in the United States on that wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network on November 11. With a sleek black chassis that is a welcome departure from the typical Android look, the LG Optimus G offers 4G best out-of-the-box, built-in data storage and RAM memory. The handset also delivers a powerful quad core processor, and one of the highest resolutions and largest displays found on any mobile handset.

The LG Optimus G is available for a reduced special introductory price at select authorized online retailers now starting at 149.99.

The Optimus G for Sprint delivers many of Google’s services like Chrome, Car Home, Gmail, Maps with Navigation, Search and Shopper as well as a couple of battery conservation features. The optional “Power Saver” application automatically adjusts the Optimus G settings when your battery drops below 30% power, and you can choose which settings are affected. The handset can also operate in either Eco-Mode or Standard Mode, with the economical mode employing only two of the four quad core processors to conserve battery life.

The QSlide function allows you to view a video while multitasking, browsing the web, reading emails, or shooting out a text message. The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is present out-of-the-box, with the LG Optimus UI version 3.0. The handset measures 5.19 x 2.71 x 0.33 inches (131.9 x 68.9 x 8.45 mm), weighing 5.11 ounces (145 g). The True HD IPS+ Touch Hybrid Display runs a large 4.70 inches, and delivers 1,280 x 768 pixel resolution (WXGA), making the LG Optimus G 4G the owner of one of the highest screen resolutions found on any mobile handset..

That LCD screen is the first LG smartphones offer “Zerogap Touch” technology, which removes the layer of air between the LCD panel and glass that is present on most smartphones. This allows for excellent viewing at extreme angles and in direct sunlight, and more than 16 million separate colors are present. Pixel density runs extremely high, at 318 pixels per inch, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass offers scratch resistance.

Talk time is impressive for a 4G, quad core smartphone at 13.0 hours, and Samsung has included a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 microchip suite as part of the hardware package. The quad core on board is a Krait model clocked at 1.5 GHz, and the graphics processor is an Adreno 320 chip. 2.0 GB of RAM system memory are on board, as is 32 GB of built-in data storage. With one of the largest megapixel counts of any smartphone camcorder, the LG Optimus G delivers a 13.0 megapixel camcorder recording video at 1,080 P HD resolution, and offering voice activation. A chat cam offers video call support, and a YouTube video player joins a built-in music player that benefits from Dolby Mobile sound enhancement in the multimedia package.
