lgoptimusgRetailing for around $99 on contract at select sales events like the Amazon Wireless seasonal holiday sale, the LG Optimus G for Sprint was supposed to hit that wireless provider’s brand-new 4G LTE system in early November. The launch was delayed, but it appears that smartphone shoppers waiting for the arrival of the new LG smartphone have not been disappointed. The handset delivers a powerful quad core central processor, extra wide image and video capture, a large high-resolution display, and one of the highest megapixel counts of any 4G smartphone camcorder.

The LG Optimus G is available for a reduced holiday price now starting at $49.99.

The sleek black chassis has a unique appearance that differentiates itself from most other Android phones, and the handset delivers Google services like Chrome, Car Home, Gmail, Maps with Navigation, Search, Shopper, and YouTube. An optional Power Saver feature lets you dictate battery conserving parameters for your LG Optimus G, and the optional Eco Mode runs on 2 cores rather than 4 when you want to save battery power.

The handset also delivers a handy QuickMemo feature which enables you to use a stylus to jot or sketch on the screen. And closet shutterbugs and would-be Hollywood movie directors will enjoy the Video Wiz application that gives you extensive video editing ability, and even allows you to string together multiple photos. The Sprint LG Optimus G also offers a QSlide function which allows you to simultaneously watch a video or movie while also browsing the web, texting or checking your e-mail.

The 4G LTE system for Sprint delivers simultaneous voice and data access, and the LG Optimus G 4g does so in a slim 0.33 inch (8.45 mm) body. The 4.70 inch True HD IPS+ Touch Hybrid Display, aside from having a very long name, offers 1,280 x 768 pixel resolution for WXGA quality viewing. The LG Optimus G also happens to be the very first smartphone made by LG to deliver “Zerogap Touch” technology. Simply put, this combines your LCD panel and glass to eliminate the air gap that is usually found between those layers on other smartphones.

This delivers much truer colors, better viewing outdoors and in extreme sunlight, and at extreme angles. Pixel density runs high at 318 pixels per inch, with more than 16 million colors present. Corning Gorilla Glass offers scratch resistance, and talk time runs an above average 13.0 hours from a single charge. The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 set of microchips includes a quad core 1.5 GHz CPU, and a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board. 32 GB of storage are built-in, and the rear facing 13.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. The built-in music player benefits from Dolby Mobile sound enhancement, and the handset also contains a front facing chat cam.

You can purchase the LG Optimus G for a discounted holiday price now starting at $49.99.
