motoxRecent research has showed that many iPhone owners are not that crazy about the new iPhone 5S and 5C smartphones. And Motorola Mobility says if that is your case, they are more than happy to take care of you. Google purchased the company late last year, and recently made a move that provides iPhone owners with a quick and easy to use way to transport their important personal information from their Apple product to the new Motorola Moto X 4G.

The Verizon Motorola Moto X is also available at a reduced sale price at select online retailers starting at $99.99 at select online retailers.

Contacts, calendar events and other data from an iPhone owner’s iCloud backup files can now be swiftly transferred to your Android powered Moto X via the new tool which was debuted by Motorola vice president of product management Punit Soni on Google+. The Motorola iCloud service is handled through the company’s MotoMaker web service, and allows you to customize the appearance, details and even color of your Moto X device.

You must first open a free Google account and then, on the handset, select the “I have an iPhone” option from inside the Migrate feature. After you have signed into your iCloud account, all of your pertinent data will be transferred. Android roared past Apple earlier this year as the most preferred mobile operating system in the world, and with this new iCloud data migration tool, Google is looking to add further market share, stealing it from the Cupertino-based Apple.

The Motorola Moto X was announced in August, and arrived shortly thereafter. Retailing for around $129 online on contract at the Verizon Wireless store, the Motorola Moto X delivers a True HD display and “always on” touchless control through Google Now integration. The Motorola Moto X also boasts an Active Display feature, meaning that only the part of a display which is required for a notification is illuminated. This is a battery saving feature, and has not gone unnoticed by industry analysts.

The respected consumer advocate Consumer Reports recently stated that they preferred the Motorola Moto X 4G over the new Apple iPhone 5S and 5C smartphones, due in part to the Active Display operation, as well as touchless control feature which recognizes your voice commands even when the phone is in standby mode. A 4.70 inch screen is on board, with a resolution of 720 by 1,280 pixels. The high-resolution 10.0 megapixel camera on the back of the phone records video in 1,080P HD resolution, and 2.0 GB of RAM system memory is present. 16 GB of built-in data storage space is offered, with Google chipping in an extra free 50 GB of Google Drive virtual storage. You can also purchase the Verizon Motorola Moto X handset at a discounted price tag at select online retailers starting at $99.99.
