If you happen to have Verizon for your wireless provider and have the carrier’s variant of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx for your mobile weapon of choice, then you know you have a handset that doesn’t need to be charged at the end of the day for use on the morrow. This is made possible because the handset features a massive 3300 mAh power pack in its chassis which gives it an unbelievable battery life unlike what we’ve seen among smartphones in the past.

However, there is also a chance that you have already lost all patience when it comes to waiting for the official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to happen because you have had enough of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. However, all that will soon come to a screeching end because the manufacturer has finally announced that is has already started rolling out the Jelly Bean refresh to the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx.

As usual, the update is being pushed out to the handset via OTA so either you wait for the notification that the update has already landed on your device OR initiate the update process manually by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Download. Also, the rollout is in phases so some Motorola Droid Razr Maxx users will get the update sooner than the others but at least those still waiting for the update to land that in just a couple of days, they too will also get to experience the Jelly Bean refresh on the handset.

Once applied to the handset, the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean refresh will bring the following enhancements to the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx:

  • New User Interface
  • Google Now
  • Improved features (Voice Search, Camera, Keyboard, Gallery, Notifications, Wi-Fi hotspot and Chrome browser)

In addition to that, the update will also bring tweaks and fixes to the handset designed to improve the performance of the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx and these fixes are for:

  • Quick Office
  • Outlook Sync
  • 3G & 4G Connectivity
  • Google Maps
  • Audio Settings
  • Music Playlists
  • Contacts
  • Global Roaming

As for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the handset has its circuitry revolving around its Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 chipset. This SoC brings to the handset a dual-core 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and a full gigabyte of RAM working together in generating the computing muscle required by the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx. In terms of storage capacity, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx comes with 16GB of internal memory while a dedicated microSD card slot in its chassis and a 16GB microSD card in its retail package enable memory expansion of the handset.

As for its display, the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx sports a 4.3-inch SuperAMOLED Advanced panel with a qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Its dual-shooter configuration on the other hand comes with an 8MP shooter at its back panel and a 1.3MP video call and self-portrait snapper at its front bezel.
