As of the moment, the Samsung Galaxy S III is still the talk of the smartphone town and has been for quite some time now since hitting the shelves back in the late parts of May. We’ve already heard about just how great the handset is and how much money it is making for Samsung – after all, 20 million units of the handset have already been sold in just a hundred days after it launched making it a veritable gold mine for the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer.

The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is on sale now starting at 149.99.

Though this may be the case, we are pretty sure that there are still quite a few of our smartphone-crazed brethren who are still holding on to their old, trusty Samsung Galaxy S II handsets. When you come to think of it, the former Samsung flagship device from last year still has an impressive specs sheet that can take the game to the bad boys even if it is a bit aging already. But that is not the only good thing going on for the Samsung Galaxy S II. It was already announced that the handset will also get upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and now, word on the street is that the Jelly Bean refresh will hit the device on November.

Apparently, this is the buzz right now in rumorland as the news that the Samsung Galaxy S II getting its Jelly Bean treatment on November was confirmed via the FaceBook page of Samsung Sweden where a timeline of software upgrades was posted. If this pans out, then those whose who are still rocking a Samsung Galaxy S II have more than enough reason to celebrate since the wait for Jelly Bean will now amount to just two months.

The question that begs to be answered right now however is whether carrier-branded versions of the handset, particularly the AT&T released Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G, will also get the same treatment. As of the moment, there has been no solid word coming from the Samsung camp as of yet as to what its Jelly Bean plans are for the Samsung Galaxy S II variants that made it to US shelves but if and when Samsung manages to get the original Samsung Galaxy S II upgraded to Jelly Bean, it wouldn’t be that hard to get versions of the device such as the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket to get on the Jelly Bean train.

Of course, users of the handset will have to wait longer for Jelly Bean to arrive – should it arrive – after all, AT&T will still have to make sure that the update will work beautifully with its system before it will give the go signal to rollout the update. But it would really be nice to hear from Samsung about this but we reckon that an announcement is not yet forthcoming because the manufacturer is still busy taking care of the Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Buy the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket now starting at 149.99.
