With many handsets only now delivering the Ice Cream Sandwich Android operating system version 4.0 out-of-the-box, the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G is one of a very few handsets that offers the brand-new Jelly Bean 4.1 Android OS. The handset was released on September 10, and Motorola and Verizon announced the over the air transfer two weeks ago. Motorola Droid Razr M handset owners in the US can now experience the quicker, smoother interface, improved camera operability, new Google Now contextual search application and personal virtual assistant, as well as a slew of other Jelly Bean goodies.

Motorola has even been promoting Jelly Bean 4.1 for their Droid Razr M on their latest ad campaign, mentioning a couple of the abilities of the new Google Now and Maps apps. Offered in either black or white and released on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, the handset is smaller and lighter than the typical 4G smartphone, at 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) and 4.44 ounces (126 g).

That small body still contains a large 4.30 inch screen, because Motorola designers stretched that Super AMOLED advanced display edge to edge, creating an almost nonexistent bezel. Visuals are presented in more than 16 million colors, a nanocoating provides splashproof protection for the interior and exterior, DLNA video out connectivity is offered, and the handset is protected by a scratch resistant layer of Gorilla Glass.

That rear snapper is capable of 1,080P HD resolution video capture, and joins a front facing VGA quality chat cam in the camera combo.
