htcdroiddnaThe HTC Droid DNA delivers one of the fastest and most powerful quad core processors of any smartphone. It also offers the highest pixel density of any handset currently. On top of that, the HTC Droid DNA 4G was the first smartphone to deliver a 5.0 inch display with Full HD 1,080P resolution to the US. The exclusive Beats Audio full range sound system is on board, the handset supports NFC wireless access out-of-the-box, and the upgraded Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system is running the show. High resolution video capture, the HTC Sense UI and 50% better than average talk time are all offered.

Are we looking at the best all-around smartphone released last year? With the hardware and software packed into the multipurpose HTC Droid DNA 4G, a rather substantial argument could be made that the handset is the most well-rounded of any released in 2012. Getting the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system is also another feather in the cap for the powerful handset. Verizon announced last November they had 440+ 4G LTE major markets in the United States, which is a number 4 times larger than their nearest competitor, AT&T.

With a powerful processor, speedy network, large high-resolution screen and full multimedia package, the HTC Droid DNA 4G seems to have it all. The 2.0 GB of RAM memory is twice what the average handset offers, and the HD game Reign of Amira has been preloaded to show off the large high-resolution screen and powerful Adreno 320 graphics processor built into the handset.

And the 5.0 inch Full HD display is pulled from edge to edge, creating the smallest possible form factor for such a powerful, big-screen handset. Skinny at 0.38 inches (9.73 mm), the Droid DNA offers an overall display resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels to its 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 screen. Pixel density runs an almost comically high 441 pixels per inch (ppi), comparing very positively to the Samsung Galaxy S III (306 ppi) and Apple iPhone 5 (326 ppi). More than 16 million separate colors grace that display, which is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass.

Talk time runs 12.6 hours from a single battery charge, compared to the 8.0 hours of the average 4G smartphone. The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 microchip package has at its core a quad core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU, 2.0 GB of RAM memory has been built-in, as has 16 GB of storage space. An f/2.0 lens aperture is found on the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, which comes equipped with a special effects package and video capture of 1,080P HD resolution. A 2.1 megapixel chat cam rides up front and offers video call support, and the Droid DNA 4G can operate as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot for multiple wireless devices.
