htcdroiddnaThe HTC Droid DNA features the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system with the HTC Sense UI Android overlay. The sleek, slim handset also offers a powerful quad core processor and double the amount of RAM memory found on the average smartphone. HTC has added the exclusive full range Beats Audio sound enhancement package, with a 2.5 volt headset amplifier and dedicated speaker amps. The smartphone designers at HTC ensconced the handset’s powerful feature set in a tough, polycarbonate unibody.

The phone also offers a unique appearance, with red side grills and an ultra matte finish. Extra attention is also paid to the seamlessly laminated screen to maximize reflection elimination, and viewing is excellent outdoors and in bright light situations. The HTC Droid DNA also offers wireless charging to keep you portable, and the upgrades on the phone are HTC’s answer to the best-selling and popular Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 smartphones. HTC must be doing something right, as the handset is, as of this writing, the number one best-selling smartphone on contract on all of Amazon.

HTC gave the Droid DNA 4G smartphone a large 5.0 inch 1,080P display with an incredibly high-end pixel density of 441 pixels per inch (ppi). That compares favorably with the Galaxy S III (4.8 inch screen and 306 ppi), and iPhone 5 (4.0 inch display, 326 ppi). The handset is powered by a quad core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon CPU, and a full 2.0 GB of RAM memory joins an Adreno 320 GPU in the handset’s hardware package.

To show off that substantial RAM memory, powerful GPU and multitasking CPU, HTC and Verizon have included the HD video game Reign of Amira. Even if you do not go in for playing games on your phone, the demanding HD game effectively shows the abilities of the hardware package coupled with Beats Audio, while running on the speedy 4G LTE system of Verizon in the US. And while that display is one of the largest found on any smartphone, the Droid DNA handset is exceptionally thin at 0.38 inches (9.73 mm).

The 5.0 inch screen that we mentioned above is an ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 model, with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels and 16 million colors. That screen is protected by scratch resistant Gorilla Glass, and talk time runs high at 12.60 hours from a single charge. The handset comes equipped with 16 GB of built-in storage, and records video at 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. The handset was recently spotted with a bargain bin retail price of $49 on contract that the Amazon Wireless smartphone store online.
