If you happen to be a fanboy of the Windows Phone ecosystem and have been eagerly awaiting the release of the HTC Windows Phone 8X, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer’s current flagship device for the platform, but have passed up on the chance to preorder the handset because you want to see and touch the device before forking out your hard earned dinero, you now have the chance to get your hands on the handset.

The just released HTC Windows Phone 8X is available for a reduced price at select authorized online retailers now starting at 129.99.

As it stands, the HTC Windows Phone 8X is now available in the shelves of Big Red’s brick and mortar retail locations and the smartphone will dent your budget by $199.99. However select online retailers will be offering the phone for a reduced price tag. Of course, it goes without saying that you will be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with the wireless provider should you be interested in taking advantage of the HTC Windows Phone 8X at its carrier-subsidized price point.

As for the HTC Windows Phone 8X, the handset as mentioned earlier is HTC’s top-tier smartphone in the Windows Phone ecosystem. The handset reached official status when it was unveiled back in September where it was also announced that it will be added to Big Red’s portfolio of Windows Phone 8-powered devices. The handset has dimensions of 132.4 x 66.2 x 10.1 mm and it tips the scales at a mere 130 grams. At this catch weight, the HTC Windows Phone 8X is pretty light for a device its size.

Under the hood, the Verizon HTC Windows Phone 8X already runs Windows Phone 8 for its operating system as its name suggests. The handset also boasts of impressive components under its hood starting with the QualComm MSM8960 Snapdragon chipset at the heart of its operation. Incidentally, this is the same chipset we saw in the circuitry of the variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III released by multiple carriers in US shores.

This chipset of the HTC Windows Phone 8X brings to the table a dual-core Krait processor running at a clock speed of 1.5  GHz and this processor works in conjunction with a full gigabyte of RAM in generating the computing muscle needed by the handset to ensure that its performance and operation remain flawless, snappy and smooth. In terms of storage space, the HTC Windows Phone 8X comes with 16GB of onboard memory but sad to say, this is what you only get because the handset doesn’t come with a microSD card slot in its chassis for memory expansion purposes.

As for its display, the HTC Windows Phone 8X sports a 4.3-inch SuperLCD 2 capacitive multitouch panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In addition to that, the display of the handset is made from Corning’s famed Gorilla Glass so scratches and dings are the least of your concerns with the baby. The HTC Windows Phone 8X’s camera department on the other hand boasts of a rear-facing 8MP shooter while its front panel is home to the handset’s front, wide-angle 2.1MP shooter.

You can purchase the HTC Windows Phone 8X for Verizon for a reduced price tag and free shipping now starting at 129.99.
