htcdroiddnaThe typical smartphone shopper these days is looking for a large display with high resolution. They also want a handset with a powerful processor that allows them to multitask and simultaneously access voice and data. And just like shoppers of all consumer electronics devices, they do not mind getting a good bargain. The HTC Droid DNA 4G is an Android smartphone powered by the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system that runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the United States, and it qualifies all the above criteria.

The HTC Droid DNA is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

Recently the handset received a substantial price reduction, and was spotted at the Amazon Wireless store online with a $49 on contract price tag. Arriving last November on that network, the sleek handset offers a powerful quad core processor, the exclusive Beats Audio sound package, double the typical amount of RAM memory found on a smartphone, and simultaneous HD video and image capture. Jelly Bean 4.1 OS joins the HTC Sense UI in presenting a user interface, accepting multitouch, capacitive gestures for navigation.

Pixel density on the HTC Droid DNA is higher than only a couple of handsets in the entire mobile marketplace, and runs an excellent 441 ppi. Compare that to the Apple iPhone 5 (326 ppi) and Galaxy S III (306 ppi). Because of that high-end pixel density, the large 5.0 inch screen delivers a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. That gives a Full HD 1,080P designation to the 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 display, which also offers more than 16 million different colors.

Talk time on Verizon’s network for the Droid DNA runs as high as 12.6 hours on a full battery charge, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 system chip has at its cornerstone a quad core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU. 2.0 GB of RAM system memory has been installed, as has 16 GB of built-in data storage space. The above-mentioned simultaneous HD video and image capture is supplied by the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder on the handset. That rear snapper also provides a continuous shooting mode which captures up to four shots per second.

The high-end camera features also include excellent low light performance thanks to the three-way combination of an extra wide f/2.0 lens, backside illumination sensor (BSI) and built-in LED flash. The HTC ImageChip keeps every shot in focus, and also removes noise and balances color. The Droid DNA 4G also delivers a front facing chat cam, and that front camera is also capable of placing and receiving video calls.

You can purchase the Droid DNA at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
