htcdroiddnaThe HTC Droid DNA 4G Android smartphone can consistently be found on the Amazon smartphone best-sellers list. Currently rated as the number one bestseller at that retail giant’s wireless store, the HTC Droid DNA recently received a drastic retail price reduction in advance of all the new smartphones which are rolling out the next few months. The hardware and software package on the Droid DNA hardly needs a lower retail price to attract attention, but nonetheless, it can currently be found at the Amazon Wireless store for $49 on contract.

The HTC Droid DNA is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99.

That price tag is generally reserved for entry-level, budget phones, and certainly does not seem to match the Full HD 1,080P display, Beats Audio, powerful quad core processor and simultaneous HD video and image capture the handset offers. That display resolution runs 1,080 x 1,920 pixels and covers a full 5.0 inches, and the handset launched on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in late November of 2012.

That Beats Audio provides not only dedicated speaker amplifiers, but also comes equipped with a 2.5 volt headset amplifier. The Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system is present out-of-the-box, as is NFC wireless support. YouTube and Picasa applications are pre-installed, as is the HD fantasy realm game Reign of Amira. HTC included that video game to fully display the excellent integration between the quad core processor, Adreno 320 graphics processor and large high-resolution screen.

The Droid DNA 4G is offered in a tough polycarbonate unibody and ultra Matte finish, and the display is a seamless laminated piece that helps eliminate reflection. Red side grills are very distinctive, and overall the Droid DNA 4G is a sleek looking handset. The Sense 4+ UI Android overlay accepts capacitive, multitouch gestures for device navigation, and the handset is slim and light for a phone with such a large display, measuring 0.3 inches (9.73 mm) and weighing 4.87 ounces (130 g).

The 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 screen delivers 441 pixels per inch, and more than 16 million colors. That display is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass, and talk time runs 12.6 hours from a full battery charge. The central processor is a quad core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon model, 2.0 GB of RAM memory are on board, as is 16 GB of built-in storage. The rear facing camcorder has an 8.0 megapixel sensor, and is capable of continuous shooting, capturing up to four shots per second. The f/2.0 lens, built-in LED flash and back illuminated sensor (BSI) also make that camera perfect for low light situations.

You can purchase the Droid DNA at a discounted price tag now starting at $49.99.
