HTC Droid DNA 4G Dropped to Sub $100 Price Point for Valentine’s Day

htcdroiddnaThe HTC Droid DNA 4G became an instant bestseller for the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the United States when it launched in late November of last year. The handset delivers the 4.1.2 Android Jelly Bean operating system, double the RAM memory found on the typical 4G smartphone, and a powerful quad core central processor. It also happens to be the first US smartphone which offers a large 5.0 inch screen and Full HD designation 1,080P resolution.

The slim, light and tough smartphone has an ultra-matte finish and red side grills, with a durable polycarbonate unibody. The screen was designed as a seamless laminated piece to eliminate reflection, allowing for better viewability in direct sunlight and outdoors.

With a high-end pixel density (ppi) above 300, the Apple iPhone 5 (326 ppi) and Samsung Galaxy S III (306 ppi) offer excellent resolution. That having been said, the HTC Droid DNA 4G slays the competition, offering an unbelievable 441 ppi to its large 5.0 inch display. And coupled with that high-resolution screen, HD video gamers will love the fact that the Droid DNA 4G comes with the fantasy realm game Reign of Amira preloaded, and a powerful Adreno 320 GPU.

Sporting the Sense 4+ UI which meshes with Jelly Bean and supports capacitive, multitouch gestures the large 5 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 screen delivers an overall resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Also, more than 16 million individual colors are used to create visual displays, and a protective layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass overlays the screen. Battery life on the Droid DNA is above average, offering a full 12.6 hours of talk time from a single battery charge.

A 1.5 GHz quad core central processor and 2.0 GB of RAM memory joins 16 GB of built-in data storage in the handset’s hardware profile, and simultaneous HD video and image capture is provided by the rear facing camcorder. That 8.0 megapixel camcorder also provides continuous shooting at up to 4 shots per second, excellent low light performance with the extrawide f/2.0 lens and backside illumination sensor, and video capture at 1,080P HD resolution.
