Samsung has had more than its share of digital ink these past couple of days with the recent unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the latest iteration of its highly-successful phablet but that is not the only good thing (or handset) the Korean smartphone and tablet manufacturer has in the works. Also worthy of mention is the Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE – of which we have heard a great deal through leaks and rumors. The latest word on the street however is that the handset is expected to hit the shelves of Verizon on September 6 which is also the expected launch date of the LG Intuition in US shores.

The source of the information is a leaked screenshot of one of the internal systems of Verizon which show that the Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE will launch in all channels on the said date. No solid word yet as to what the price point of the handset will be once it makes its debut but rumors have it that the smartphone will come with a $99.99 price tag attached to its retail package on a new two-year contract with the wireless provider.

The Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE is said to be a mid-range device and will feature a “Starter Mode” – which could be the same started mode found on the Pantech Marauder. For the uninitiated, this starter mode will help people who are unfamiliar with the Android operating system and have never used a smartphone in the past. If you happen to belong this portion of the population, the Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE and its starter mode will be a big help in getting you introduced to the wonderful world of Android. As you become more comfortable with using the smartphone, you have the option of switching starter mode off and changing over to the regular Standard Mode.

However, one snag we found on the handset is its rumored $99.99 price tag. For a midrange device, that may be a bit steep and we are under the impression that it is a bit overpriced. Hopefully, immediate price cuts for the Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE are in the offing once it finally hits the shelves of the wireless provider. As for the specs sheet of the handset, it is not as complete as we would want it to be but at least, we got our hands on the more pertinent ones.

The Samsung Galaxy Stellar 4G LTE is expected to ship with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system while its yet to be identified 1.2 GHz dual-core processor will work in conjunction with the handset’s 768MB of RAM to generate the computing power It requires. It has 4G of onboard storage but a user can still beef this up using the microSD card slot in the chassis of the handset. It has a 4.0-inch capacitive multitouch panel with a 480 x 800 resolution while its camera department features a rear 3.15MP shooter and a front-facing 1.3MP video call camera.
