When Verizon released the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the Motorola Droid Razr and Motorola Droid Razr Maxx back in July, the refresh also gave the two Motorola handsets global roaming capabilities. For our smartphone—crazed brethren who are rocking the two handsets, this means that they basically can make use of the two handsets in taking advantage of the LTE network of Verizon while still in US shores AND still have the flexibility to use their handsets for voice and data should they travel out of the country.

However, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE, another handset in the LTE handset base of Verizon, is still waiting for an update that will unleash its global roaming capabilities. A couple of months back, the wireless provider confirmed that the handset will also be given global roaming via a future software update. Sad to say, Verizon did not mention any ETA for the update to get rolled out to the handset. Though that may be the case, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G  LTE is still one of the more capable handsets in the lineup of Android-powered devices in the stable of the carrier.

We remember the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE as the handset that was supposed to get released in May but have experienced a lot of delays that it only managed to hit the shelves just a couple of days before Verizon released its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III. Because of this, we were a little doubtful of the chances of the handset making it big at the carrier but the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE still became one of the more popular devices at Verizon because of its impressive resume despite of its relatively more affordable price point.

The handset was announced back in May and during the announcement, Verizon confirmed that the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be available in the coming weeks. Sad to say, the weeks dragged on and it was only in July that the handset finally made it to the shelves of the carrier. The handset is your typical black slab of a smartphone with measurements of 121.9 x 61 x 11.7 mm and it tips the scales at 132 grams.

Under the hood, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE already runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system and this is powered by the handset’s QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset with its dual-core 1.2 GHz Krait processor and full gigabyte of RAM. The storage space onboard the handset only comes up to 8GB but at least, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE comes with a microSD slot in its chassis so memory expansion is possible on the device. Its display on the other hand is a 4.0-inch SuperLCD capacitive multitouch panel with a qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels while its camera department is comprised of a rear 8MP shooter and front 1.3MP video call and self-portrait camera.
