Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III Delivers Jelly Bean Treat For One Penny

galaxysiiisprintThe Sprint Galaxy S III received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system before some other mobile carriers offering the popular GS III handset, and Sprint recently made the phone even more attractive by reducing their 16 GB Galaxy S III retail price tag. The slim and powerful large screen Android smartphone can be obtained during the annual Amazon Wireless holiday sale for just one penny on contract in the 16 GB version.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is available for a discounted holiday price tag now starting at $0.01.

Officially launching on June 21 of this year on Sprint, it was not until recently that Sprint debuted their first ever 4G LTE system for that GS III to run on. Boasting speeds up to 10 times faster than their previous 3G network, the Sprint Galaxy S III can also deliver simultaneous voice and data access. This allows you to surf the web or check your e-mail without interrupting a voice call. The handset is slimmer and lighter than other phones with a 4.80 inch screen and 4G connectivity, measuring 5.38 x 2.78 x 0.34 inches (136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm) and weighing 4.70 ounces (133 g).

Protected by a scratch resistant layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, the 4.0 inch Super AMOLED display employs a full 16 million colors when rendering visuals. Pixel density runs extremely high at 306 pixels per inch, and this creates a high-end display resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. Light and proximity sensors are on board, and standard multitouch, capacitive gestures are supported. A full 9.20 hours of talk time can be achieved from a single charge of the Sprint Galaxy S III’s 2,100 mA battery.

The multimedia package on board the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III 4G offers both a YouTube video player and built-in music player with filtering features, and popular social networking destinations Facebook, Picasa and Twitter are present as well. The handset supports NFC (Near Field Communications) wireless technology out-of-the-box, and the hardware package includes twice the average amount of RAM memory of the typical 4G smartphone, with 2.0 GB of RAM memory built-in.

The system chip is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 model, with a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU and Adreno 225 GPU on board. The handset is also offered in a 32 GB version, with both 16 and 32 GB models offering microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC support for memory cards up to 64 GB in size. The rear mounted 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides simultaneous high definition image and video capture, recording video in 1,080P HD resolution. There is also a front facing chat cam with video call capabilities.
