The Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone first arrived on December 15 of last year on the Verizon Wireless network in the US, and that handset has since made its way to the Sprint 4G LTE system as well. Sprint rolled out their new 4G LTE network in the United States recently, and has announced they will be spreading that speedy network to at least an additional 100 major Metropolitan areas by the end of the year. The handset boasts one of the largest and highest resolution screens of any smartphone, a powerful dual core processor, simultaneous voice and data access and a high resolution camcorder.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus for Sprint is on sale at a reduced price now starting at 49.99.

The handset also delivers Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box, allowing for wireless data share with applications like Android Beam, as well as wireless retail payment processing for apps like Google Wallet where NFC communication is supported in brick-and-mortar retail stores. Sprint recently reduced the retail price of the Galaxy Nexus, as the handset is also offered on the Verizon Wireless system, and Sprint is attempting to attract customers away from Big Red and gain market share.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus delivers the most out-of-the-box, built-in storage of any smartphone at 32 GB, and the handset is powered by a dual core 1.2 GHz central processor. A separate chip handles all graphics duties as part of a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip suite, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board. The handset contains a 1,850 mA battery which delivers up to 7.50 hours of talk time from a single charge. The 4.65 inch Super AMOLED capacitive multitouch display is one of the largest on any smartphone, and resolution runs to the high-end of all mobile handsets, at 720 x 1,280 pixels. Pixel density is also extremely high, at 316 pixels per inch.
