The Galaxy Nexus 4G smartphone originally arrived in the United States on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system. Recently the Sprint 4G LTE network which was rolled out approximately a month ago also became the beneficiary of the Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone. Sprint recently announced that an additional 100 major Metropolitan areas in the United States would be receiving 4G LTE connectivity in the coming months, and that system delivers speeds up to 10 times their 3G network. The Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G also offers simultaneous voice and data access, delivering version 4.0 of the Android operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), out-of-the-box.

Sprint recently dropped the retail price of their Galaxy Nexus 4G Android smartphone to bargain-basement levels, but the handset still delivers a large screen, high resolution display, speedy dual core processor and high resolution video capture. Offering Near Field Communications (NFC) capability out-of-the-box, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G supports wireless retail payment processing applications like the popular Google Wallet, as well as data sharing apps like Android Beam. In the hardware package on board the device a 1.2 GHz dual core central processor joins a separate chip which focuses entirely on graphics processing in the Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip suite.

Integrated into the back of the handset is a 5.0 megapixel camcorder which provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. That rear snapper comes equipped with an LED flash and f/2.8 lens, as well as a special effects package and panorama widescreen mode.
