When T-Mobile released the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G back in March, the handset got a lot of positive reviews because the handset packed decent components under the hood while at the same time having a reasonably affordable price point. Sad to say, the handset didn’t get the warm reception from the smratphone-buying population it was hoping for because our smartphone-crazed brethren has got their sights fixed on other more powerful devices in the market.

Though this may be the case, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will no longer get some update love from the Magenta carrier. In fact, T-Mobile has just rolled out an update that is sure to make users of the handset quite happy. Nope, it is not the update that will crank up the software version of the device to Ice Cream Sandwich but is instead a minor software update that will squash some of the bugs that hamper the performance of the handset. However, this particular update is said to be the precursor to the much-awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G so users of the handset are advised to have this applied to their handsets as soon as they can.

As usual, this update is being rolled out via the usual OTA manner so users of the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G should wake up to a notification that lets them know about the availability of the update on their respective handsets. If the notification is nowhere to be found, a user of the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G can always do a manual check for the update every once in a while until he hits update pay dirt. The rollout of the update will happen from July 16 to August 5 so users of the handset will not get the update all at the same time.

In addition to that, T-Mobile has already published the changelog of the said update in its official support site so we pretty much have an idea as to what goodies and treats it will bring to the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G. Once applied to the handset, it will crank up the software version of the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G to T769UVLF4 and will get rid of the E911 Wi-Fi issue of the handset. In addition to that, the update will take out the echo issue experienced on the handset when on a Hearing Aid Compatibility call. Furthermore, it will improve the proximity sensor of the device which overall makes it a very important update to install.

Unfortunately, the Magenta carrier still hasn’t released any solid word yet as to when the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will finally get a tasty treat of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but this latest software update for the handset is evidence that it is still on track.
