Samsung Mobile Arabia recently tweeted a number of updates in relation with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Even though the Samsung Galaxy S III seems to be making headlines, Samsung have gone ahead in bringing updates on the Note II. This only indicates that consumers are willing to try out a sequel to the much successful phone + tablet. Courtesy a Korean website, latest rumours point towards a Galaxy Note with a 5.4 inch plastic substrate OLED display instead of the traditional glass display. This change will presumably make the screen flexible. Another wild speculation is that the Note will possess a 12 MP shooter. In fact, the release of the Galaxy S III has triggered increased rumours for the sequel to the Galaxy Note.

The second rumour comes from a trusted source at UbuntuLife.net, which claims that the Note II will possess a 5.5 inch WSXGA+ screen with Samsung’s trademark Super AMOLED display. The handset is expected to be powered by Samsung Exynos 5250 processor with 1.5 GB of RAM and a plethora of features that include NFC, LTE, S Beam and S Voice. The device is expected to be launched this October. These rumours will surely be a waste if there Samsung decides against releasing a sequel to the popular phablet.

Now, a tweet was recently made by Samsung Mobile Arabia which polled users on which handset they were waiting for the most, one of the options for which was the Galaxy Note II – which is far from an official announcement, but is expected to perk up the rumours in the region, which was first to get the Samsung Galaxy S III. The sequel is expected to be introduced at this year’s IFA much like its predecessor last year.

The phone/tablet is all set to have a 1680×1050 screen resolution, spread over a 5.5 inch display. As usual, the display is expected to be a Super AMOLED screen, which is among the best in its class. If Samsung decides to go for a flexible OLED screen, it’ll be the first manufacturer to do so. The combination of full HD with flexible screens is something new even for Samsung, and it will be interesting to see if Samsung decides to include such technology even though it has been developing flexible OLEDs for a few years now. However, the Note II itself is just vaporware at the moment and no Samsung official has even acknowledged the existence of the device.  You can buy the original Samsung Galaxy Note starting at $199.
