The Samsung Galaxy Note 4G received its name for its unique handwriting recognition technology that provides note taking capability in your own handwriting. You can add your thoughts to video or still images by writing on the screen with the provided S Pen smart stylus, create original artwork, doodle and draw. And the Galaxy Note 4G gives you an ample screen for you to scribble on. The 5.3 inch capacitive multitouch screen is the largest provided by any 4G handset, and joins a speedy processor, high screen resolution and above average battery life in the impressive feature package the handset delivers.

The large screen on the Galaxy Note means a larger handset than average, but the 5.78 x 3.27 x 0.38 inch (147 x 83 x 10 mm) design can be comfortably held in one hand and manipulated with the other, and is offered in your choice of either Carbon Blue or Ceramic White colors. The 5.30 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen creates images and video in more than 16 million colors and 285 pixels per inch. The overall screen resolution runs 800 x 1,280 pixels, and standard light and proximity sensors automatically adjust for the best brightness and help conserve battery life. That display is protected against scratching and chipping by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass.

The battery conservation features team up with the oversized 2,500 mA battery on board the Galaxy Note to deliver 25% better single-charge talk time than the average 4G handset, at 10.0 hours. Standby time runs 10.4 days from a single charge, and the hardware package on board the Galaxy Note 4G includes 16 GB of built-in, user accessible storage. A microSD slot also provides microSDHC support for cards up to 32 GB. A Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon chip set is present, which includes a dual core 1.5 GHz Scorpion central processor and graphics dedicated Adreno 220 GPU. 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is also on board.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4G delivers the same high resolution camera package as found on its sibling the Galaxy S II, and that includes a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder and front facing 2.0 megapixel chat cam. That rear device comes equipped with an LED flash, and offers autofocus, multishot capability, panorama mode, preloaded backgrounds scenes and smile detection.

Video capture is provided at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD) and 30 frames per second, while the front facing chat cam offers portrait snapshot capture and video call support. A built-in music player is present, a proprietary YouTube video player has been pre-installed, and popular social networking applications Facebook, Twitter and Picasa are also on board. The Samsung Galaxy Note also provides Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless technology.  Buy the Samsung Galaxy Note starting at $199.
