galaxynexusThe Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G has been an incredibly popular and successful smart phone for that mobile handset manufacturer. Not too many smartphones have what it takes to last an entire year as a viable selection because of the incredible advancements that take place due to improved technology. However, the Galaxy Nexus 4G still offers, over a year after its arrival, one of the largest and highest resolution displays of any 4G smartphone. The handset is currently retailing for $0.01 on contract at the Amazon Wireless store.

The Galaxy Nexus for Sprint is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

And on the new 4G LTE system of Sprint which launched in late November of 2012, the handset provides downlink speeds from 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) and uplink speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps, while in Sprint 4G LTE mobile broadband coverage areas. The handset also received a rebirth of sorts in 2012, as it got an update to the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system while also accessing the Sprint 4G LTE speed and power.

The handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.47 mm), and yet still delivers a large 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display. A minimum of 7.50 hours of talk time can be squeezed out of a single charge of the handset’s 1,850 mA battery, and the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G allows for approximately 6.2 days of standby battery power. Powering the handset is a Texas Instruments OMAP 4460 microchip package, and at its centerpiece is a dual core 1.2 GHz Cortex A9 CPU. Exclusively focusing entirely on graphics processing is a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, and the handset offers 1.0 GB of RAM memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage.

The camcorder built into the back of the handset is a 5.0 megapixel model, capable of video capture at 1,080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second. That rear snapper also offers a built-in LED flash for low light operation, has an extra-wide panorama mode, autofocus and white balance features, as well as a special effects package. Integrated into the front of the Sprint Galaxy Nexus 4G is a chat cam with video call support, YouTube and Picasa applications have been pre-installed, and the handset delivers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box.
