droidmaxxofficialThe Motorola Droid MAXX 4G smartphone was red carpeted at a special press event in New York City in July. The phone runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, and delivers a large high-resolution display, ample RAM memory, a package of eight processing cores and a camera which is an improvement over the snapper found on previous Motorola Droid handsets. The customized Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System offers a 1.7 GHz clock time by handing off low-power and standard operations to a quad core graphics processor, natural language processor and contextual computing core.

You can purchase the Motorola Droid Maxx at select online retailers starting at $249.99, which is a savings of up to $50 over carrier prices. You can also order directly from Verizon starting at a price of $299.99.

This allows the dual core central processor to focus on your more important requests and operations, making for a very speedy performance. The high resolution camera built into the back of the handset runs 10.0 megapixels, and is joined in the Motorola Droid MAXX camera combo by a front facing 2.0 megapixel chat cam. One of the unique features on the rear facing camcorder delivers the ability to instantly power up the handset’s camera mode with a couple of twists of your wrist. That quick capture feature means never missing a shot, and the rear shooter boasts Motorola ClearPixel technology.

The company says this allows the RGBC color filter on the camera to capture more light in low-light scenarios, and also cuts out blur and noise. Video is captured in Full HD 1,080P resolution at 60 frames per second, with the front facing camera offering Skype and video call support. Running on the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 operating system out-of-the-box, the handset is slim at 0.33 inches (8.5 mm), even though it includes an extended life battery of 3,500 mA. Motorola claims an incredible 48.0 hours of all-around use is available after a full battery charge, and the Motorola Droid MAXX 4G is durable as well.

The phone continues the tradition of being housed in a DuPont Kevlar fiber unibody, and scratch resistant Gorilla Glass protects the display. That screen is 5.0 inches in size, with a True HD resolution of 720 by 1,280 pixels. The Droid MAXX is capable of wireless charging, and offers a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory. Motorola has equipped the handset with generous built-in storage space, at 32 GB.

The handset delivers NFC, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity options, and can function as a mobile hotspot for multiple wireless devices. Motorola has given the Droid Maxx 4G “always on” functionality, with the handset understanding your voice commands even when it is in standby or sleep mode. The active notifications feature of the phone helps conserve battery power by only illuminating whatever part of your display is needed to showcase any notifications you have received. Voice dialing, voice commands and voice recording options are also on board.

You can purchase the Droid Maxx at a discounted price tag starting at just $249.99 at select online retailers. You can also opt to order directly from Verizon starting at $299.99.
