The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX maxes out 4G run time from a single charge, as well as out-of-the-box, user accessible storage. With an oversized 3,300 mAh cell, a 4G-best talk time of 21.5 hours from a single charge has been achieved. That battery also delivers 16 days standby, and the out-of-the-box storage for the device includes 16 GB of onboard storage and a 16 GB microSD card that accompanies every purchase of the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX. Exclusive to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system, the handset retails for $199 at select Verizon authorized retailers with a standard new two-year activation and data agreement.

The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX Android smartphone delivers Android’s Gingerbread operating system out-of-the-box, but is on the shortlist to receive the much-anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system “soon”, according to Verizon Wireless and Motorola. The handset measures 5.15 x 2.71 x 0.35 inches (130.7 x 68.9 x 8.99 mm) in size, still thinner than most 4G smartphones despite the oversized battery. Weighing 5.11 ounces (145 g) makes the Droid Razr MAXX only slightly heavier than the average 4G smartphone offering.

The Super AMOLED display on board runs 4.30 inches, with an above average pixel density of 256 pixels per inch, for an overall screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. That capacitive, multitouch screen is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass, which also provides glare reduction. A Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 microchip package is on board the Droid Razr Maxx, which includes a graphics dedicated processing chip and 1.2 GHz dual core central processor. Also on board is a substantial allotment of 1.0 GB RAM system memory.

Providing video capture at 1080P HD resolution and 30 frames per second, the autofocus-enabled and image stabilizing 8.0 megapixel camcorder on board also delivers an LED flash for low light operation. Upfront is a 1.3 megapixel chat cam which can also be used for placing video calls and taking portrait snapshots. A proprietary YouTube video player joins an onboard music player in the multimedia package, and the Kevlar and aluminum coated body comes rated as splash-proof.

The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX arrived in the US on January 9 of this year, and delivers voice dialing, voice recording and other voice commands via the onboard speakerphone and noise canceling mic, as well as Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Talk and Picasa integration. The handset offers wireless connectivity options through Wi-Fi channels 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.0 and DLNA video out. Micro HDMI technology also delivers wired video out functionality.  Buy the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx starting at $199.
