lumia15202Smartphone owners and those that read the rumors and news posted on the internet know that one of the last stops for a smartphone is at the FCC before it finally gets released to the public.  That can finally be said about the Lumia 1520 from Nokia, according to one online source.  The Lumia 1520 will be showing up at the AT&T network and is considered to be Nokia’s first phablet device because it will arrive with a large touch screen display.  The Windows Phone powered device is going to have some tough competition in the Galaxy Note 3 and the HTC One Max, both of which have been through the FCC testing phase already.

Documents that have been leaked online and posted to PocketNow.com reportedly show that Nokia issues two variations of the Lumia 1520 for the FCC.  According to the documents, one will be tested with wireless charging, while the other model will be tested without that feature.  The LTE support that is shown on the FCC document points to the fact that the device will first show up on the AT&T network.  The documents also revealed what the final size of the touch screen display could be and judging by the size of the device, 5.9 by 3.1 inches, the device will at least be smaller than 5.9-inches unless it reaches from edge to edge.

The FCC document does not actually reference the Lumia 1520, but it does refer to model numbers that are consistent with Nokia smartphones, but some sources are thinking it will be two variations for the Lumia 929 that is about to show up on the Verizon Wireless network.  The size and the wireless charging options are two things that are keeping some from the Verizon Wireless theory on this one.  The Lumia 929 is expected to have a 5-inch display and if it were the one revealed in the FCC documents, it would arrive with a huge bezel around the display.

The FCC filing did not include any photos of the new device, but earlier this month there were a couple posted via a Twitter account that is known for leaking information proven to be correct shortly after.  Besides the fact that the Lumia 1520 is going to be the largest Windows Phone device on the market, it will also be equipped with a 16MP camera one the back, which is the second best camera according to some.
