In today’s smartphone world, Android-powered handsets usually come in a black paint job that makes them look eerily like the next smartphone on the shelf. Lately however, the trend for OEMs was to release a handset in a lily-white version that basically gives prospective buyers more options when it comes to the colorway of the handset that they will rock. However, when Samsung released the Galaxy Note II last year, the handset was only available in a white and gray colorway – no black paint job for the second generation Samsung phablet, folks.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.

This was also the case when the Samsung Galaxy S III hit the shelves back in May 2012. The Samsung flagship device was released in Marble White and Pebble Blue colorway but since then, the Korean electronics giant have already released the handset in additional color versions. With this development, those looking to make the Samsung Galaxy Note II their next mobile weapon of choice started asking if this new color treatment will also trickle down to the phablet.

There were reports from a couple of weeks back that there is a big chance of this happening. First, there was a report that the Samsung Galaxy Note II will be released in a black paint job. Sad to say, this did not pan out because the supposed press renders for the said “variant” of the phablet was only a mock-up done by a Samsung fanboy. However, more reliable reports came in after that when images of the phablet were seen in a newspaper in South Korean sporting the Amber Brown and Ruby Wine colorways.

However, the next piece of news could turn out to be the real thing. One of our sources managed to get his hands on images of the Samsung Galaxy Note II in its new Amber Brown paint job. This version of the handset with the new colorway is headed to NTT Docomo based on its branding but there is also a big chance of it making to other markets as well. There is still no confirmation coming from the Korean electronics giant about this but these latest developments could very well mean that the Samsung Galaxy Note II will after all come in new colorways to give the smartphone-buying population more options.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the second generation Samsung phablet is already running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and this is powered by the device’s Exynos 4412 Quad chipset which comes with a quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and a staggering 2GB of RAM. The handset can be had in a 16GB and a 32GB version in terms of storage space but a user still has the option of having this expanded through the use of its dedicated microSD card slot. The display of the Samsung Galaxy Note II remains its main selling point with its 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a resolution of 1280 x7 20 pixels while its camera department boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and front 1.9MP video call and self-portrait snapper.

You can purchase the Galaxy Note II for a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.
