Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD – Jelly Bean 4.1 Treat is Rolling Out Now!

The Droid Razr MAXX HD has been a runaway hit for the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the United States, recently selling out at multiple online retailers. One retailer that has the handset in stock and sale priced for the holiday season is the Amazon Wireless store, where the Droid Razr MAXX HD 4G Android smartphone retails for approximately $149 on contract. And as mentioned on multiple websites last week and confirmed yesterday on the Motorola Mobility blog, Jelly Bean 4.1 is currently being rolled out to Droid Razr MAXX HD handsets.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a reduced price and can be purchased now starting at $174.99.

The Droid Razr MAXX HD hit the 4G LTE Verizon Wireless network back on October 18 of this year, and if you haven’t yet seen the Jelly Bean 4.1 software version 9.1.41.XT926.Verizon.en.US on your handset, there is no need for concern. As usual, Verizon is rolling out the update in phases, and Motorola also stated that a manual update will be made available very soon. Included in the Jelly Bean treat are goodies like Google Now and an improved keyboard option, along with major improvements to voice and data connectivity.

If you would like to check your smartphone to see if your Droid Razr MAXX HD has already received the Jelly Bean 4.1 update, head over to Settings > About phone > System Updates on your handset. If there is no notification for download, just keep an eye on your incoming notifications for an update alert. Aside from the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS experience, the Droid Razr MAXX HD delivers a security suite which includes a remote hard drive wipe, PIN lock and government grade data encryption.

The handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), provides a waterproof nanocoating, and is durable with a DuPont Kevlar back plate and Gorilla Glass display protection. The screen is the largest made by Motorola for a 4G smartphone at 4.70 inches, and delivers HD resolution at 720 x 1,280 pixels. That resolution is present at a high end rate of 312 pixels every inch, with more than 16 million colors represent. Video out options are provided through a wired microHDMI port, and wireless DLNA connectivity.

Talk time is extreme at 21.0 hours, and a single charge of the oversized 3,300 mA battery also delivers an impressive 13.0 hours of video playback. The handset uses a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor as a base for its hardware package, 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM memory is on board, and a 4G leading 32 GB of data storage is built-in. A microSD slot is on board for storage expansion, and the handset’s rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution.
