The Droid Razr MAXX HD has finally arrived on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, launching on October 18. The handset returns the great rugged and durable design features of previous Droid Razr models, while finally upgrading the resolution to true high definition status. The same all day long battery battery performance of the Droid Razr MAXX has returned, the skinny motif of the original Droid Razr is also found on the handset, and the central processor power has been boosted by 25%. Also, for you sports fans, the Droid Razr MAXX HD gives access to the NFL Mobile application, which is only available from Verizon.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is on sale now at a special introductory price that saves you $100 starting at 199.99.

The handset also delivers a convenient remote wipe security feature, a pin lock and government grade encryption for your e-mail, calendar and contacts. Currently offered in either black or white, the Droid Razr MAXX HD also offers Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless support. The handset offers Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 operating system out-of-the-box, and even borrowing the huge 3,300 mA battery from the Droid Razr MAXX 4G, the handset is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm). Continuing in the durable design of previous Droid Razr models, the handset offers splash-proof features with a nanocoating, a scratch resistant Gorilla Glass overlay protects the display, the rugged DuPont Kevlar back plate has returned, as has a layer of aircraft grade aluminum which surrounds the display.

That screen has grown to one of the largest offered on any handset at 4.70 inches, and for the first time in a Droid Razr the resolution offered is 720 x 1,280 pixels. That 312 pixel per inch pixel density is one of the highest ratings on any smartphone, and the Super AMOLED screen once again displays visuals in more than 16 million colors. DLNA wireless and wired microHDMI video out options can port your screen to a larger HDTV or display monitor. The extreme battery life mentioned earlier nearly measures up to the 4G best offering of the Droid Razr MAXX 4G, and the Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD 4G delivers a full 21.0 hours of talk time, 13.0 hours of video playback or 27.0 hours of streaming music over Verizon’s LTE network from a single charge.

The system chip on board is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960, and a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor is the most powerful found on a Droid Razr handset so far. An Adreno 225 graphics processor is on board, as is 1.0 gigabyte of LP DDR2 RAM. The Droid Razr MAXX HD also delivers the most out-of-the-box, built-in data storage at 32 GB, including a microSD slot for storage expansion supporting cards up to 32 GB in size. The same 8.0 megapixel camcorder/1.3 megapixel chat cam camera combo is back, offering video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. The Google Chrome for Android web browser has been pre-installed, as have YouTube and Picasa applications.
