droidrazrmThe compact Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone is the successful attempt by Motorola mobile handset designers to create the smallest and slimmest handset with a large 4.30 inch screen. However, they did not want to sacrifice the incredible battery performance Droid Razr smartphones are known for. By stretching the display from edge to edge and corner to corner, and creating a nearly nonexistent bezel, Motorola Mobility engineers effectively created a thin, small and light 4G smartphone with a large high-resolution screen.

The Droid Razr M is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $0.01.

The handset runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system as well as EV-DO, Rev A 3G and CDMA 800/1900 frequencies where 4G LTE is not available. Also compatible with global 3G and GSM networks, the Droid Razr M 4G delivers speeds of 5-12 megabits per second (Mbps) on downlinks, and 2-5 Mbps on uplinks according to Verizon. The handset also offers a free Backup Assistant service which automatically makes a backup copy of your mobile contacts to your online address book.

Verizon’s Visual Voice Mail service delivers on-screen access to your voicemail message status, and allows you to save 40 messages for 40 days or archive them permanently. You can also create up to 10 separate caller ID-based greetings, and respond to messages by text, voice mail or call back. The Droid Razr M 4G has a rugged aircraft grade aluminum and DuPont Kevlar body, as well as a scratch resistant Gorilla Glass overlay. The handset is also protected internally by a special water repellent nanocoating.

Currently retailing for less than $50 on contract at select online retailers like the Amazon Wireless store, the Droid Razr M handset features the recently upgraded Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system. You have your choice of black or white body color, and the Chrome for Android web browser has been pre-installed. Near Field Communications (NFC) support is present out-of-the-box, as are the popular YouTube and Picasa applications. Small and compact, the Droid Razr M 4G measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) and weighs 4.44 ounces (126 g).

The display is a 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED model, with 540 x 960 pixel resolution. The long life battery offers a full 20.0 hours of talk time from a single charge, and the CPU is a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait processor. A microSD slot allows for storage expansion, 8.0 GB of storage are built-in, as is 1.0 GB of RAM memory. Verizon’s Droid Razr M 4G also contains a rear facing camcorder of 8.0 megapixels, capable of capturing video in 1,080P HD resolution. A chat cam sits up front, offering video call functionality.
