The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD Android smartphone has been with us since October 18. That handset arrived on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the US, and is currently offered in your choice of black or white. Delivering the NFL Mobile wireless app that is exclusive to Verizon, the handset is chock-full of security features. A remote hard drive wipe, personal identification number lock and government grade data encryption join a scratch resistant layer of Gorilla Glass, splash-proof protection inside and out, and rugged Kevlar and aluminum body to make for a durable and secure handset.

The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD is available for a special reduced introductory price at select online retailers now starting at 199.99.

Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0 operating system is present out-of-the-box, and the device is slim at 0.37 inches (9.3 mm), even though it contains a large, extended life battery. That 3,300 mA cell delivers a full 13 hours of video playback or 21 hours of talk time from a single charge. Standby time runs roughly 15.5 days, and the large high-resolution 4.7 inch screen boasts a pixel density of 312 pixels per inch.

That creates an overall display resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, both of those designations lying at the high end of the mobile marketplace. A light sensor offers auto display brightness adjustment, a proximity sensor helps conserve battery life, and video out is delivered by both DLNA and microHDMI connectivity. MicroSD and microSDHC memory cards of up to 32 GB in size are supported by the microSD slot, and the CPU is a dual core 1.5 GHz Krait microchip.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 chip set also includes an Adreno 225 GPU, 1.0 GB of LP DDR2 RAM is on board, with 32 GB of data storage built-in. The Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD 4G offers a front facing chat cam for video call support and portrait snapshots, as well as a rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder. That rear device offers a built-in LED flash and autofocus, touch to focus, Geo tagging, face detection and image stabilizing features.

Video capture runs 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD), and a built-in music player is capable of filtering by album, artist or play list, delivering album art cover and background playback. A proprietary YouTube video player has been pre-installed, the Picasa application is also on board, and the Google Chrome web browser for Android is ready for use out-of-the-box. The handset also offers access to wireless NFC (Near Field Communications) applications, and functions as a mobile hotspot for multiple wireless devices.

You can buy the recently released Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD at a special introductory reduced price now starting at 199.99.
