When talking about LTE coverage in the US, Verizon has always been in the lead while AT&T is at the second spot. Back then, Sprint was still watching in the sidelines while it is waiting for the green light for its LTE network to get lit up. Be that as it may, that did not stop the carrier from adding LTE-capable handsets to its stable – sort of an investment for its subscribers for when its LTE network goes online. And now that Sprint has finally lit up its LTE network, its subscribers can now pick from the carrier’s handset base of LTE-supporting handsets.

If you happen to have Sprint for your wireless provider of choice, you have a couple of devices to choose from if you want to maximize the benefits of the carrier’s LTE coverage in your location. You can select from high-end devices such as Sprint’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S III or its variant of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. However, if you are the type of smartphone user that do not care much for handsets that come with bells and whistles that are of no use to you and just want a capable device that will let you make calls and surf the web while letting you save a lot of dinero in the process, then the LG Viper 4G should be on the top of your short list.

As of the moment, Sprint has just given the green light to drop the price of the LG Viper 4G yet again and the handset has now become more affordable than ever at Sprint-authorized retailers. In fact, the handset is almost free at these retailers – almost, because the LG Viper 4G can now be had at these retailers for only a penny. Of course, you will be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with Sprint before you can go home with the LG Viper 4G but the contract should be the least of your worries. After all, you are getting one of the best handsets in the Android lineup of Sprint for practically nothing.

The LG Viper 4G was announced by Sprint back in January but the handset only made it to the shelves of the wireless provider in April. It measures 117 x 62 x 12 mm and it tips the scales at 142 grams. Under the hood, the operation of the LG Viper 4G is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and this processor works in conjunction with a full gigabyte of RAM to ensure that the performance of the handset remains perpetually flawless. The storage space onboard the LG Viper 4G only comes up to 4GB but this is still expandable using the memory expansion slot of the handset. Display-wise, the LG Viper 4G packs a 4.0-inch TFT panel with a 480 x 800 resolution while its camera department gives the handset a rear 5MP shooter capable of video capture and a front VGA video chat camera.  You can buy the LG Viper at a reduced price at select retailers.
