Among the handsets in Verizon’s lineup of Android-powered smartphones, the HTC Rezound 4G is considered as one of the best devices alongside the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Of course, this is all before the advent of the quad-core powered handsets in the smartphone competition. Back then, many of our smartphone-crazed brethren consider the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as the best handset Verizon has to offer but there are those who disagreed claiming that the title should be given to the HTC Rezound 4G. Either way, when you look at both handsets, the only edge the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has over the HTC Rezound 4G is the fact that it already packs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system while the HTC handset is still stuck in the Gingerbread generation.

In terms of getting upgraded to the latest iteration of the Google mobile operating system, the HTC Rezound 4G has already been rumored in the past that it is about to get upgraded to ICS but sad to say, all the rumors fizzled out. Users of the handset however resorted to making use of leaked ICS builds for the handset just to get a feel of how the HTC Rezound 4G will perform if it is already running ICS for its operating system. In fact, there are rumors that the ICS update for the handset is already just around the corner because the leaked ROMs for the device that recently surfaced are all near-final builds already.

When you come to think of it, HTC has already released word in the past that the HTC Rezound 4G will get its tasty treat of ICS either in June or July and the leaked build that surfaced last week is as close as it can get to the real thing. The ongoing speculation therefore as of the moment is that ICS could hit the HTC Rezound 4G any day now. In fact, the support page of HTC is already showing that build 3.14.605.10710RD for the HTC Rezound 4G is already available. Sad to say, there are no reports yet that the build has made it to the airwaves.

In fact, there are no reports from Verizon subscribers that they are already able to take advantage of the said update. Asdditionally, the official support site of Verizon doesn’t show anything remotely related to an ICS update for the HTC Rezound 4G. Come to think of it, whenever Verizon is scheduled to release a software update, the changelog of the update always get posted in the said support site prior to the rollout of the update but it doesn’t seem to be the case here.

So what is the real score with regard to the ICS update for the HTC Rezound 4G?

Could it be that Verizon forgot about the rollout date of the update altgether? Did HTC jump the gun and released the info a bit sooner than expected? Whatever the case may be, this only means one thing for the users of the HTC Rezound 4G – it’s back to the waiting game for you guys.  You can buy the HTC Rezound starting at $99.

  1. While talking to HTC about my Rezound a few days ago the rep said that I would be able to uninstall any bloatware that I wanted to when ICS comes out in August (2012 I presumed)
