HTC has created a very unique smartphone in their new Windows Phone 8X, and that handset hit the AT&T 4G HSPA+ network in the United States in early November. That network provides mobile broadband speeds up to 4 times quicker than the previous AT&T network, and the Phone 8X can function as a central hub for additional Wi-Fi enabled wireless devices. Unique body color choices not found on other smartphones are available, and the dual-mode phone can work on any global GSM or UMTS network. It is currently priced at $0.01 on contract during the Amazon Wireless holiday sale season.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X is available for a discounted price now starting at $0.01.

This is the very first Windows Phone ever to offer the Beats Audio full range sound system, and included in this particular version is a powerful audio amplifier. It works through both your speaker and your 3.5 mm audio jack, improving audio signal and sound quality whether you are watching a movie, playing your favorite game or listening to music. The Windows Phone 8 operating system means that the handset meshes perfectly with your Microsoft powered computer, laptop and even Xbox video game console.

The large 4.30 inch display delivers one of the highest pixel densities found on any handset, at 342 pixels per inch, and 16 million colors are present on that display. This gives the HTC Windows Phone 8X an overall screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, and that display accepts capacitive, multitouch gestures. Standard light and proximity sensors help conserve battery life while offering auto brightness adjustment, and the handset is protected against everyday scratches and chips by a rugged layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.

Battery conservation efforts leads to an above average 11.3 hours of talk time from a single charge of the 1800 mA battery, and standby battery power lasts for approximately 12.1 days. The popular social networking destinations YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Picasa applications pre-installed into the HTC Windows Phone 8X, and the hardware package is built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip suite. The handset delivers 16 GB of built-in data storage out-of-the-box.

The CPU on board is a 1.5 GHz Krait dual core central processor, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is also present. Both the front and rear facing cameras offer an ultra wide 88 degree viewing angle and 1,080P HD resolution video capture, allowing up to 4 people for your Skype video calls and other applications. That is roughly 3 times the capability of the typical front facing chat cam on the average 4G smartphone, and the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder is provided its own dedicated shutter key.

You can purchase the HTC Windows Phone 8X for a seriously reduced price tag now starting at $0.01.
