htconeRumors, rumors, rumors; the life force of the Android Blogosphere. Early rumors about an HTC One Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update were confirmed last month by HTC, and then just this week an alarming little Twitter tweet caused many HTC One owners to groan in dismay. The Three UK support team, in answering a specific customer question, told that HTC One owner that the Android 4.2.2 update had been pulled. That customer re-tweeted and as quick as you can say, “Bob’s your uncle,” the UK tweet had gone viral.

To put an end to any possibly incorrect information, Engadget contacted HTC, who had better news concerning the new Android update for the HTC One. They said that Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is still on the way to the best-selling HTC flagship smartphone, and will be upcoming. As usual, no exact launch date was given, but it is good news to finally hear HTC officially confirm the operating system update. The HTC One is arguably the most powerful and most hardware-packed device in the mobile handset marketplace, and receiving Jelly Bean 4.2.2 will be a nice boost.

And the response by the Three UK customer support team may simply represent a problem with that particular provider. Multiple parties and sources have reported the over the air HTC One Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update has already begun to appear in Taiwan and China. We even know the size of the particular update in those countries, 465 MB. So the fact that it has already hit multiple countries means the Jelly Bean upgrade for the HTC One is definitely happening, and sooner rather than later.
