htconexplusThe HTC One X+ offers your choice of either Stealth Black or Polar White body color, and arrived on the AT&T network in the United States on November 16. One of the first quad core smartphones and also one of the first to deliver the Jelly Bean Android operating system out-of-the-box, the HTC One X+, in yet another first, is the first phone to join an LTE radio and a Tegra processor. The handset also delivers a large high-resolution screen, the most built-in data storage space of any handset and high resolution video capture in stereo sound.

The powerful quad core CPU actually has a battery saving fifth core which handles low draw operations, and that Tegra 3+ processor has been clocked at a speedy 1.7 GHz. Jelly Bean version 4.1 is present out-of-the-box, and meshes with the Sense 4+ UI, accepting multitouch, capacitive gestures. Light for such a large phone at only 4.55 ounces (117 g), the handset is also slim at 0.35 inches (8.9 mm). The handset offers NFC wireless support out-of-the-box, and delivers the exclusive Beats Audio sound package.

The 4.7 inch screen has a high-end resolution of 312 pixels per inch, resulting in an overall display resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. The S–LCD 2 display is represented in more than 16 million colors, and is protected against everyday wear and tear by a scratch resistant layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The built-in light and proximity sensors help enhance battery performance, delivering a full 12.75 hours of talk time from a single charge of the 2,100 mA battery on board.

An NVIDIA Tegra 3 AP37 system chip joins a ULP GeForce GPU in the hardware package, and the HTC One X+ offers 1.0 GB of RAM memory and a more than generous 64 GB of built-in storage space. The camera built into the back of the handset has an 8.0 megapixel sensor, and launches in less than 0.5 seconds. Nearly instant image capture runs only 0.7 seconds, and that rear facing snapper offers continuous autofocus, offering excellent low light capability thanks to the built-in LED flash, backside illumination sensor (BSI) and f/2.0 lens.

That camera is capable of recording video in 1,080P HD resolution and in stereo sound, and offers a Burst Mode that can capture up to five shots per second. On the front of the handset is a chat capable camera with a 1.6 megapixel sensor, also capable of supporting video calls. A built-in music player joins a YouTube video player in the handset’s multimedia package, and the popular Picasa application has been pre-installed. The handset was recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless store online carrying a $79 on contract price tag.
