The HTC One  X 4G Android smartphone which runs on the AT&T 4G LTE system in the United States is a groundbreaking phone in at least one area. That handset received the highly regarded CTIA Best Smartphone award offered by video centered consumer electronics website Videomaker earlier this year at the CTIA Wireless Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana. Videomaker stated that they wanted to point out in this day and age where smartphones are as powerful as laptops were as recently as five years ago, the HTC One  X 4G still stands out from the field.

That handset is the first ever in the world to offer the ability to capture still images while simultaneously recording high resolution video. But that is not the only feature that caused Videomaker to laud the HTC One X 4G smartphone. Arriving on May 6 of this year exclusive to the AT&T 4G LTE network, the handset is arguably the fastest and most powerful on that entire wireless system.

Delivering above average talk time for a 4G smartphone is the 1,800 mA battery on board, offering 8.50 hours of talk time from a single charge. Continuing in the hardware package, we find a Qualcomm MSM8960 microchip suite that is built around a powerful and speedy dual core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. A graphics specific Adreno 225 GPU exclusively focuses on all graphics processing, and 16 GB of built-in, user accessible storage are delivered out-of-the-box. The handset also contains 1.0 GB of RAM system memory.

The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder delivers video capture at 1,080P HD resolution and in stereo sound, and the HTC One X also offers Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless connectivity for apps like the payment processing Google Wallet, as well as the wireless data share application Android Beam. Video mirroring is possible thanks to DLNA wireless connectivity, and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system is present out-of-the-box.

The handset also delivers the high-end, full range Beats Audio sound system, and is thin and light in comparison to other smartphones. Arriving in the standard rectangular slab form factor, the handset weighs 4.55 ounces (129 g), and measures 0.35 inches (8.9 mm) in thickness. The large 4.70 inch delivers an overall screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, and a protective layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass is present. A front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam joins that rear facing camcorder in the camera combo, and offers video call support.  View the recently reduced price of the HTC One X.  This reduced price is found in select online retailers.
