Sometimes consumer electronic devices like smartphones receive awards bestowed on them at industry expos and conventions which don’t translate to the marketplace for the consumer. An analyst may be so into the intricate workings of a particular piece of technology, that they lavish a brand-new smartphone with praise, without understanding what that handset will actually deliver to the end-user, the consumer. Just this year the HTC  One X was given the CTIA Best Smartphone award by video dedicated consumer electronics site Videomaker. That award was delivered at this year’s CTIA Wireless Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Videomaker pointed out that in a day when smartphones are as powerful as laptops were about five years ago, the HTC  One X 4G still stands above other handsets, in their eyes.

The HTC One X 4G is the first handset in the world to allow for image capture while simultaneously recording high resolution video in stereo sound. That video is captured in 1,080 P HD resolution, and the 8.0 megapixel rear facing camcorder which provides this feature also delivers nearly instant image capture, at only 0.7 seconds. That rear snapper contains a special effects package, and provides for low light camera operability with a back illuminated sensor (BSI), built-in LED flash and f/2.0 lens which captures up to 40% more light than the average smartphone camera. Joining the camcorder is a front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam in the camera combo.

The handset is far from just a great camera package, however. Launched exclusively for the 4G LTE system of AT&T in the United States on May 6 of this year, the HTC One X handset has a speedy dual core processor, large high-resolution screen and is arguably AT&T’s most powerful handset. Near Field Communications (NFC) access for wireless connectivity applications like the payment processing Google Wallet and wireless data share application Android Beam is present out-of-the-box. Another wireless feature is the DLNA technology which allows for wireless video mirroring to an HDTV or monitor.

The HTC One X 4G delivers the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box, and the full range Beats Audio sound package joins a built-in audio player and YouTube video player in the multimedia package on board the handset. Delivered in the typical form factor of current smartphones, the HTC One X is a rectangular slab weighing in at 4.55 ounces (129 g), and measuring 0.35 inches (8.9 mm) in thickness. A 1.5 GHz dual core Krait processor is on board, and the handset delivers a large 4.70 inch Super LCD2 display with 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution.  The HTC One X is available at a reduced price at select online retailers.  Manufacturer restrictions don’t allow us to advertise the reduced price, but we can tell you that its worth checking out!  Buy the HTC One X at the reduced price.
