HTC Evo 4G LTE – Jelly Bean, Hands Free Kickstand and 4G Speed for One Penny

htcevo4glteThe HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone received an update from the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system to the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS in late 2012. That handset arrived in early June of last year on the Sprint network, and Sprint launched their first ever 4G LTE system only a month later. The 4G LTE Sprint network in the United States is expanding, and that company recently added 28 major markets in the United States offering their 4G LTE access.

Sprint plans to complete their United States 4G LTE rollout by the end of 2013, and the HTC Evo 4G LTE offers a powerful dual core processor to run on that mobile super-speedway. HTC has added their Sense 4.0 UI Android overlay which supports multitouch, capacitive gestures for device navigation, and the handset is slim and light compared to other phones with the same size display. The HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone measures 5.31 x 2.71 x 0.35 inches (134.8 x 68.9 x 8.9 mm) and weighs 4.73 ounces (134 g).

The display mentioned above is a large 4.70 inch Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen displaying more than 16 million different colors, and the built-in kickstand on the back of the handset makes the HTC Evo 4G LTE for Sprint perfect for hands-free viewing of your favorite video clips and movies. When the handset arrived in the middle of last year, it was one of the first to deliver a pixel density of 312 pixels per inch, and resolution runs high at 720 x 1,280 pixels.

Corning Gorilla Glass offers a layer of scratch resistance, and the built-in light and proximity sensors help stretch battery life. On the Sprint 4G LTE network the Evo 4G LTE handset delivers as much is 9.0 hours of talk time from a single charge of the 2,000 mA battery, and the handset’s multimedia package includes both a Stereo FM radio with RDS and exclusive full range Beats Audio sound system with dedicated speaker amplifiers that improve sound volume and quality.

The handset offer simultaneous HD video and image capture with its rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, recording that video in 1,080P HD resolution and stereo sound. There is a front facing chat cam with video call support up front, and the HTC Evo 4G LTE for Sprint is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU. 1.0 GB of RAM memory has been included, as has 16 GB of built-in storage that can be ramped up with the onboard microSD slot.
