The HTC Droid Incredible 4G smartphone arrived on July 5 in the United States sporting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box. Providing a “large enough” display in a more compact model than most of the 4G LTE handsets currently offered, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE smartphone measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.46 inches (122 x 61 x 12 mm) and weighs 4.66 ounces (132 g). With Near Field Communications (NFC) technology ready for use out-of-the-box, the handset supports applications like the Android Beam data share app.

The HTC Droid Incredible 4G is on sale now starting at 9.99.

The Android Beam app allows HTC Droid Incredible 4G owners to share files, videos and even applications instantly through wireless data sending technology. NFC technology connects to the receiving handset, and sends the data. And it all happens almost instantly. To share some content from your Droid Incredible 4G to another Android Beam device, simply select the “Applications” tab from your home screen, Then Select “Settings,” then “More Settings.” Select “Android Beam” and switch it on, and then pull up the content you want to share on your display. Then merely hold your Droid Incredible 4G LTE smartphone next to another NFC enabled smartphone device, and your content is immediately shared.

The Android Beam data share application is only one of many NFC-dependent applications which you can download to your HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE handset. The display on board is 4.00 inches, and is protected by a scratch resistant layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Resolution runs 540 x 960 pixels, delivered at more than 275 pixels per inch. The Super LCD screen accepts standard capacitive, multitouch gestures, and a built-in proximity sensor helps conserve battery life.

The Droid Incredible 4G LTE handset delivers roughly 20% better talk time than the standard 4G device, at 9.57 hours after a single charge of the 1,700 mA battery on board. Standby time runs a generous 18.6 days, and a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon microchip package powers the device. That chip set is built around a dual core 1.2 GHz Krait CPU, and an Adreno 225 GPU handles all graphics processing. 8.0 GB of data storage are built into the handset, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board. A microSD slot has been built in for storage expansion.

The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder is one of only a few found on smartphones which provides simultaneous HD video and image capture and high resolution, and it records video at 1,080P HD and 30 frames per second. That video is recorded in stereo sound, and a front facing VGA quality chat cam is located up front. The full range Beats Audio sound system is on board, and joins a built-in music player and YouTube video player in the multimedia package on board the handset.
