htcNow that HTC has released the HTC One, One Max and the One Mini, it looks like the company is ready to move a little closer to the top and wants to get there by releasing a tablet.  As you might have guessed by now, the new tablet would be designed very closely to that of the HTC One, which is already a very popular line of phones and has been positively reviewed by many since it was released earlier this year.  There is mostly one reason to release a tablet today and that would be to take on the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 that are coming from Apple yet this year.

The HTC One would have some very nice features like an all aluminum body, stereo BoomSound speakers facing the front side of the device and a somewhat minimalist look overall.  The all aluminum body would give the Android powered tablet space a very premium feel, which has been taken over by budget friendly devices made from hard plastic and glass.  A leaked image might be giving some push to the rumors and was originally posted by a couple of online sources, showing what appears to be a larger version of the front side of the HTC One.

Other information is not known right now, but the leaked image might be a sure sign that HTC is ready to get into more products using the popular HTC One design.  The design was first brought to the market via the HTC One Mini and it has been a hit every since, showing up on the probable HTC One Max 6-inch phablet, as well as the leaked tablet image.  One thing about the leaked image is that it would appear that the tablet design might have less rounded corners than the One Max, but for the most part the design holds true to the HTC One Mini.

This is not the first time that HTC has brought a tablet to the market, if fact the company had a 7-inch option called the Flyer and was sold on the Sprint WiMax network as the HTC EVO View 4G WiMax a few years ago.  It was the first tablet to come with an active digitizer and was released before Android Honeycomb was released.  The Flyer did not do so well, so hopefully HTC has a better grasp on things today.
